Technical Product Manager - Cross Chain

Agoric is an open-source software development company bringing better security and composability to the decentralized financial infrastructure of today. Our secure JavaScript smart contract platform allows developers to rapidly build secure applications on top of an ever-growing collection of reusable governance, lending, and trading components. We are the go-to solution for developers who are building decentralized applications that reach cross chain to take advantage of liquidity and capabilities wherever they live. By Orchestrating cross-chain capabilities, the Agoric smart contract layer aims to become the meta layer on which most decentralized applications are built. We’ve done the legwork to create a reliable, secure, and composable smart contract infrastructure, and are seeking a talented technical product manager to join us as we help build the economy of the future. 

About the role

As a Technical Product Manager at Agoric, you will drive the execution of Agoric’s primary focus: our unique ability to handle multichain transactions from smart contracts.   You will become a master of the growing cross chain ecosystem, including the closely neighboring Cosmos chains as well as cross chain destinations. You will be working at the bleeding edge of capabilities in cross chain messaging, including IBC, Circle’s CCTP, bridges like Axelar, Hyperlane, and Wormhole. You will lead the organization in our ability to successfully extend Orchestration capabilities to new chains and contracts. You will interface directly with top teams in the space driving requirements into their implementations and ensuring our roadmap aligns with new launches.

What you will be doing

• Lead Agoric’s Cross Chain (Orchestration) capability to become a recognized leader in the cross chain space
• Build and maintain our roadmap of Cross Chain (Orchestration) capabilities focused on Agoric’s interchain connections as well as smart contract functions that interface with those connections
• Specify development work to achieve our goals and take lead in making key tradeoff decisions
• Work directly with external teams building key infrastructure for the cross chain ecosystem
• Develop strategic goals and growth objectives for Cross Chain (Orchestration) in conjunction with the product team
• Deeply understand the web3/crypto developer mindset through to the end user and represent that voice inside the company
• Effectively communicate with the Agoric community through Discord, Telegram, Slack, and live conferences

What we look for in you 

• Crypto/web3 experience - you are already familiar with technical implementations of blockchains and cross chain messages. You have self-hosted wallets and have personally used multiple decentralized applications deployed on chains
• 5+ years experience of Product Management. Or 3+ years of PM with prior experience in a software development role
• Technical background sufficient to manage a highly technical product and speak to developers
• Experience managing a platform product with developer customers
• Demonstrated grasp of issues across technical and strategic levels
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• New product launch and product life cycle management experience
• Proven experience working cross functionally with engineering, business development, and marketing

Nice to haves

• Professional software development experience
• Have previous experience at a fast-paced, high growth stage internet/software company

Minimum requirements

• Work authorization in the U.S. or Canada
• Undergraduate degree
