Staff Software Engineer, Performance

Your Purpose 

• Enhance client performance by discovering the limits of the systems, locating and identifying bottlenecks, and optimizing them.
• Expand and standardize performance measurement tools and processes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize performance improvements.
• Be a mentor and help define and implement performance testing strategies and standards

Who You Are 

• Highly experienced in tuning and optimizing microservices in distributed systems.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proven English fluency.
• You also think the average has no place as a performance metric
• You prefer user journey driven tests to synthetic ones
• At least 8 years of experience in software engineering, with a significant focus on backend development.
• Excellent leadership and mentoring abilities enable you to guide and support other engineers effectively.
• Expert in designing and implementing innovative technical solutions, along with your ability to set and execute technical direction, makes you a valuable asset.
• You autonomously drive initiative and have a proactive, "get it done" attitude.

 Preferred qualifications

• Monitoring production system performance.
• Familiarity with performance monitoring tools.
• Experience/knowledge about queuing theory, universal scalability law or similar 
  concepts
• Understanding of blockchain technology.
• Professional Java experience.

We expect solid knowledge of

• Skilled in performance testing microservices.
• Capable of setting up performance tests, creating realistic scripts, profiling scenarios, and optimizing identified bottlenecks.
• Experience in profiling and optimizing microservices.
• Databases (PostgreSQL is a plus)
• Understanding of Cloud Architectures, Microservices and Distributed Systems
• Containerization (Kubernetes and Docker)
