About the role

This position is a vital part of the engineering org. Much of our core software is written in Rust and it is part of our long term strategy. This role reports to our CTO.

Your traits

• You are comfortable writing software in Rust, with knowledge of the full Rust developer ecosystem.
• You can work on multiple projects at one time, balancing speed and quality tradeoffs.
• You enjoy learning about and solving problems in a wide breadth of engineering topics.
• You are proactive and have already read the Polybase whitepaper.

Bonus

• Mathematical background
• Experience researching or building cryptographic primitives
• Understanding of low level computer science primitives (heap, stack, memory allocation, etc)
• Experience optimizing performance

Your area of ownership

You will co-own key parts of the Polybase protocol implementation including the client, indexer and libraries. You will eventually grow into full ownership of key areas of the stack.
