Who You Are:

As an SRE/DevOps Engineer (Web3/Blockchain) at Galaxy, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our blockchain infrastructure. You will work closely with our proof-of-stake validators, Bitcoin mining support team, and digital asset custody solutions team, to maintain and enhance our cutting-edge technology stack. Your expertise in cloud infrastructure, monitoring, and observability will be invaluable in driving the success of our business.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design, build, and maintain highly available, scalable, and secure infrastructure for our proof-of-stake validators, Bitcoin mining support, and custody solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement improvements in infrastructure, monitoring, and incident response
  • Implement monitoring and observability tools to ensure the health, performance, and stability of our blockchain infrastructure
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools to streamline deployment, scaling, and recovery processes.
  • Assist the Bitcoin mining team with the setup and management of cloud components, VMWare, and other virtualization technologies
  • Implement and maintain security best practices across all aspects of our infrastructure, including access controls, encryption, and network security
  • Participate in on-call rotations to ensure the continued reliability and uptime of our services
  • Continuously research and stay up-to-date with emerging trends in the web3/blockchain space

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in SRE/DevOps, with a focus on web3/blockchain technologies
  • Experience administering Ethereum or Solana infrastructure
  • Deep understanding of proof-of-stake consensus mechanisms and experience managing validators
  • Familiarity with Bitcoin mining operations and supporting infrastructure
  • Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and virtualization technologies (VMWare, KVM, Docker)
  • Proficient in scripting languages (Python, Bash) and infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Ansible, Chef)
  • Strong experience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Datadog)
  • Knowledge of security best practices, including encryption, access control, and network security
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with digital asset custody solutions and security best practices
  • Familiarity with additional blockchains (Cosmos et al) and layer2 strategies (Eigen), and/or other web3/blockchain ecosystems.
