About the Ethereum Foundation

The Ethereum Foundation (EF) is a global non-profit organization dedicated to supporting Ethereum and related technologies. Our mission is to do what is best for Ethereum’s long-term success. Our role is to allocate resources to critical projects, to be a valued voice within the Ethereum ecosystem, and to advocate for Ethereum to the outside world.

Description:

The Go-Ethereum (Geth) team is looking for someone to join them full-time to work on documentation for the client. The core responsibilities for the role would include updating, maintaining, and, most importantly, re-architecting the documentation to be richer in context, providing better examples & tutorials, and generally being best-in-class. This role would help make Geth even more accessible, by not only explaining how features work but also incorporating the design rationale and examples that are too often lost in merged PRs (example).

Must Haves:

  • Significant experience as a technical writer on complex products/projects;
  • High-level familiarity with Ethereum
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Familiarity with Golang;
  • Familiarity with JSON-RPC.

Nice To Haves:

  • Experience as a technical writer on OSS
  • Familiarity with Go-Ethereum
  • Experience refactoring/upgrading documentation for an entire project.

Application:

Please submit your CV, cover letter, and/or links to relevant work experience when applying for the position. Links showing the before/after of work (e.g. Github pull requests) are welcome, and so are suggestions for how the current documentation could be improved.
