About Move Industries

Move Industries is building the People’s Chain, a Move-based Layer 1 blockchain, and a diverse ecosystem that empowers talented builders to create the future of finance, infrastructure, and real-world value on chain. As a core contributor to the Movement Network, we combine deep protocol engineering with open community governance, returning blockchain to its roots by giving financial power, access and opportunity back to the people.

Our Mission

Our mission is to fuel the next generation of secure, expressive, and high-performance blockchain applications through the Move programming language and scalable distributed systems. You will help unlock massive throughput, low latency, and resilience across consensus, data availability, and privacy - the invisible rails that make an open and decentralized future possible.

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Protocol to join our core systems team and architect the backbone of the Movement Network. In this role, you will drive development of latency-critical, correctness-sensitive components such as consensus, state synchronization, and mempool systems. You’ll use Rust for distributed systems that operate under real-world load, and you’ll help shape foundational protocol design alongside other senior engineers.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, implement, and optimize core protocol components, including:

    • Consensus mechanisms

    • State synchronization and replication

    • Mempool and transaction propagation

  • Build high-performance, fault-tolerant distributed systems in Rust

  • Improve system throughput, reliability, and latency at scale

  • Partner with research and product teams to iterate protocol designs

  • Debug and resolve complex distributed systems challenges in live environments

  • Contribute to engineering standards for testing, benchmarks, and safe releases

What We’re Looking For

  • Deep experience as a Rust generalist with a focus on systems programming

  • Strong background in distributed systems (consensus, replication, networking, async primitives) and design tradeoffs

  • Experience building or operating production infrastructure or protocol software

  • Excellent understanding of:

    • Asynchronous concurrency and performance optimization

    • Network protocols and peer-to-peer systems

    • Design tradeoffs in decentralized systems

  • Rigorous approach to correctness, testing, and reliability

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with blockchain protocols or consensus engines

  • Exposure to EVM or MoveVM ecosystem

  • Background in high-throughput, low-latency systems

  • Familiarity with cryptographic primitives used in consensus/security

  • Prior work in decentralized or open-source protocol communities

Why Join Us

  • Work on critical infrastructure powering a rapidly growing Move ecosystem

  • Join a community-centric, technically elite team of former Facebook, Google, Uber, Apple enginers

  • Competitive compensation with meaningful upside

  • A culture that values technical excellence, clarity, and extreme ownership

  • Opportunity to impact real-world adoption of decentralized financial system

Our Engineering Culture

  • Make it live. Then make it better.

  • Keep It Simple Stupid (KISS)

  • Extreme ownership
