Senior Governance Strategist Director

Mina Foundation is searching for  a Senior Decentralized Governance Strategist, who will take on a leadership role in designing, implementing, researching and optimizing governance frameworks for decentralized organizations. With at least 5 years of experience in protocol governance, you will be instrumental in shaping innovative governance structures and driving their adoption across the ecosystem. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, community stakeholders, and external partners to ensure the governance processes are transparent, scalable, and aligned with the organization’s mission and values. Mina Protocol is a zk Layer 1 blockchain founded in the USA with its foundation based in Geneva, Switzerland.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Governance Strategy & Execution

• Define and lead the execution of the organization's advanced DAOification roadmap and governance strategy.
• Design and implement robust decentralized decision-making processes and frameworks.
• Ensure governance models are aligned with best practices in protocol design, compliance, and stakeholder inclusivity.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with the CSPO/ Founder and leadership team to establish a cohesive governance vision and articulate it across all organizational functions.
• Collaborate with:
• Product Teams: Integrate tools and platforms essential for efficient and effective governance structures.
• Marketing Teams: Develop and execute governance-related content strategies to foster awareness, engagement, and adoption across diverse geographies and communities.
• Community Teams: Actively engage with community stakeholders to gather actionable feedback and implement iterative improvements to governance initiatives.
• Legal Teams: Ensure all governance practices adhere to applicable regulatory requirements and compliance standards.
• Governance Operations
• Develop and maintain resources essential for transparent and efficient governance processes, including reports, guidelines, and frameworks.
• Oversee and optimize governance systems, including models such as zkIgnite Elector, Modular Improvement Proposals (MIPs), and on-chain voting mechanisms.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging data-driven insights and stakeholder feedback.
• Thought Leadership
• Represent the organization in public forums, events, and panels to promote and share governance innovations.
• Act as an internal and external subject matter expert, advocating for decentralized governance principles.
• Other Responsibilities
• Address additional strategic and operational needs as required by the organization.Key Qualifications:
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years in protocol governance, DAO management, or related roles in Web3, blockchain, or decentralized technologies.
• Expertise: Proven track record of designing and implementing decentralized governance frameworks and decision-making processes.
• Leadership: Strong leadership and project management skills, with a demonstrated ability to guide teams and drive initiatives to successful outcomes.
• Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with governance platforms, on-chain voting tools, and emerging technologies in the blockchain ecosystem.
• Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively across diverse teams and community stakeholders.
