Senior DevOps Engineer

We are currently developing SOL Arena, a Web3 snake royale with real stakes PvP.

As our Senior DevOps Engineer, you’ll help drive the stability of our infrastructure and ensure seamless deployments. You’ll manage CI pipelines, enhance Observability solutions, and help mentor junior devops engineers.

How you will make an impact:

• Work side by side with developers, managing and improving their CI/CD pipelines in GitLab CI.

• Enhance monitoring and observability using existing tools (Prometheus, Grafana) and new tools.

• Troubleshoot deployment, infrastructure, cloud platforms, and services for 24/7 online real-time games.

• Coordinate deployments and maintenance schedules with QA, assisting in promoting builds across environments and automating deployment steps.

• Monitor cloud costs and collaborate with the production team on budget management, optimizing long-term expenses.

• Mentor DevOps engineers and participate in planning infrastructure, architecture, and deployment strategies.
  

Your character build:

• 3-5+ years of DevOps experience with private or public clouds like AWS, GCP or Azure.

• Proficient in building and deploying Docker containers and working with orchestration tools (e.g. Kubernetes, Nomad).

• CI/CD experience with tools like GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or CircleCI

• Proficient in CI/CD pipelines, using tools like GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or CircleCI.

• Expertise in IaaC tools, including Ansible, Terraform, or similar technologies.

• Experience in setting up and troubleshooting load balancers, traffic routing, traffic shaping and blue/green deployments.

• Unix skills with knowledge of scripting languages like Bash, Python, or Go.

• Familiarity with transport protocols (WebSocket, HTTPS, WebRTC, gRPC) and message queues (e.g. SNS, RabbitMQ, Kafka, NATS).

• Experienced in observability and monitoring, using tools like Grafana, Prometheus, NewRelic, or Datadog.

• Experience deploying and managing infrastructure across multiple regions and addressing problems of geo-redundancy for database and storage solutions.
