Senior Centralized Grader - Choice of Program

About This Role: 

The Central Grading team evaluates the performance of students within 2U Bootcamp classrooms. Beyond grading student assignments, administrative upkeep is required on the team. Senior Central Graders play an integral role in communicating with classroom stakeholders to ensure student satisfaction. Central Graders as a whole aim to provide students with meaningful feedback that elevates the experience of the virtual classroom. Senior Central Graders are masters of the curriculum and the underlying core fundamental concepts. As a Senior CG, you are the first level of support for your team and will be working closely with your direct manager to support the day-to-day operations.

Skills & Requirements

• At least 6 months of experience as a Central Grader OR at least 1 month experience as a Central Grader with at least 6 months of leadership, or equivalent experience.
• Previous experience teaching technical topics, or experience as a Central Grader.
• A positive attitude. You look to turn every negative experience into a positive one. 
• Ability to assist your fellow Central Grading team members and learn with best debugging practices via text or video chat.  
• Share your own professional experiences and industry insight with students and fellow Central Grading team members.
• Support our students individually as they go through an emotional roller coaster.
• Be able to infuse empathy, support, encouragement, and fun into the student experience.

What You Will Do:

• Prepare and stay up to date with specific curriculum expectations and core concepts.
• Training and supporting Central Graders to adhere to established standards of support.
• Mastery of the curriculum material of the assigned program, supporting students and graders with technical and service escalation requests.
• Host and coordinate meetings with the Central Grading team related to training and onboarding.
• Support students with escalated service-related issues, turning negative experiences into positive ones.
• Coach and mentor Central Graders.
• Perform quality control metrics as requested by Central Grading Management. 
• Additional duties, as assigned, including but are not limited to those outlined in the Central Grader job description.

Logistics:

• Open-Ended Contract
• Remote position, Work from anywhere! (US residents only)
• Senior Central Graders must work at least 15 hours weekly but can take on up to 29 hours weekly. (Part Time-commitment).
• Must have a laptop, camera, microphone/headset, and reliable internet access.
• Experience with Slack based communication and Zoom video conferencing preferred.
