DFINITY is looking for a researcher specialized in applied cryptography for identity and credential management systems, with applications in the blockchain area. The role is to design and analyze practical protocols with provable guarantees, and to contribute to the design of a practical identity management system built on the Internet Computer Protocol. Responsibilities
- Conduct research in identity and credential management systems, and their application in the blockchain ecosystem
- Deliver quality research paper(s) along with good internal documentation and proof of concept codes
- Participate in software architecture decisions and provide consultation to the engineering team
- Represent the project in academic and industry conferences and share technical information with the public
- Review technical pre-prints and manuscripts related to blockchain technology
Requirements
- Strong knowledge and experience in applied cryptography, especially verifiable/anonymous credentials
- Extensive experience with identity management
- Extensive experience with designing cryptographic primitives and protocols
- Extensive experience with blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies
- Experience in software engineering, coding in Rust is a plus
- PhD degree in Computer Science or related field
- Experience post-PhD as a professor, postdoctoral researcher or industry researcher is a plus
- An excellent record of peer-reviewed publications
