At Incention, we’re building the future of interactive storytelling. Our platform enables creators and communities to shape stories together, co-creating IP with AI to imagine, build, and scale new fictional worlds.
At the core is our IP Protocol — a blockchain-based system for verifying, rewarding, and coordinating contributions from creators, collaborators, and fans.
We’re hiring a Protocol Engineer to lead development of the smart contract infrastructure that powers our protocol. You’ll guide the full lifecycle of protocol development — from R&D and specification to deployment — helping define how IP is created, owned, and shared on-chain.
Design and develop smart contracts for the IP Protocol and supporting systems
Lead protocol lifecycle: research, spec, implement, test, audit, and deploy
Translate coordination primitives into on-chain logic in partnership with product and engineering
Optimize for scalability, gas efficiency, and economic sustainability
Ensure protocol security through testing, audits, and threat modeling
Stay current on advancements in Web3, cryptography, and coordination systems
2+ years developing smart contracts on EVM-compatible chains using Solidity
5+ years in senior engineering roles, with experience across Web2 and Web3
Strong understanding of blockchain architecture and smart contract design patterns
Familiarity with cryptographic primitives (e.g., ZKPs, group signatures)
Experience with IPFS and decentralized storage systems
Systems thinking approach with interest in game theory and incentive design
Clear communicator with strong product instincts
Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in early-stage environments
CS degree or equivalent practical experience
