Job Description

The Accounting team is a critical part of Afterpay's month-end close process. Afterpay is hiring a North America Accounting Manager who will be an integral part of our growing team and will report to the Sr. Manager, Accounting. You are analytical, curious, and enjoy working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
You will:
- Own and lead various North America month end close processes, working cross-functionally to ensure Global Accounting Policies and reporting timelines are adhered to; this includes reviewing/approving journal entries and reconciliations
- Prepare/Review flux analysis to support month and quarter end review
- Has strong knowledge of revenue accounting, ASC 606, and US GAAP
- Support external audit requests to ensure completion of SEC filings, audit reviews and full year audits (10Q, 10K) and support processes
- Partner with the global counterparts, working closely with the global Accounting and Finance. Help determine accounting and documenting accounting policies and procedures
- Drive improvements in processes and procedures, support and participate on revenue related initiatives
- Assist in journal entry and reconciliation review for various accounts prepared by the Accounting team
- Ad hoc finance projects
- Role will help managed NA accountants
Qualifications
Who you are:
- 5 - 8 years of experience in Accounting
- Oracle and Blackline experience a plus
- Public company and SOX experience required
- Experience with leading and developing a high performing team
- You have improved processes through cross functional partnerships
- Advance experience in MS Excel
- Strong written and verbal communication

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Zone A: USD $114,200 - USD $139,600
Zone B: USD $106,200 - USD $129,800
Zone C: USD $97,100 - USD $118,700
Zone D: USD $85,700 - USD $104,700
