We are a team of ex-Google DeepMind AI researchers and engineers with extensive experience in designing and implementing cutting edge solutions to machine learning and numerical optimisation problems. The mission of Kosen Labs is to bring the benefits of AI & advanced optimization to the DeFi space and beyond, all while keeping entry barriers low for the end user and allowing everyone to partake in the new decentralised economy. The role

As an ML Research Scientist you will work directly on a wide range of research projects, in collaboration with other researchers. You will apply your engineering and research skills to accelerate research progress through developing prototypes, scaling up algorithms, overcoming technical obstacles, designing, running, and analysing experiments and deploying these machine learning systems on-chain. Working hands on, in an environment that fosters learning and development, you start contributing to core initiatives from the get go. We see ourselves as builders of a new world where merging AI and blockchain technology is at the forefront of what we are doing.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Working independently or as part of a team on ambitious machine learning challenges;
• Designing and implementing novel algorithms and ML architectures to problems in DeFi and beyond;
• Running experiments, performing analyses of the results and presenting the findings to the rest of the research team;
• Helping with extending existing internal ML libraries and frameworks;
• Keeping on top of the newest developments in the field.

Skills and Experience

• A degree in a scientific/technical subject (e.g. machine learning, AI, computer science, mathematics, physics, statistics), or equivalent experience;
• Knowledge of mathematics, statistics and machine learning concepts needed for understanding research papers;
• Ability to write code in at least one programming language, preferably Python or C++;
• Experience with ML/scientific libraries such as TensorFlow, JAX, PyTorch;
• Knowledge of Python data science stack (NumPy, SciPy and Pandas);
• Exposure to distributed systems, accelerators (GPU, TPU), cloud computing environments;
• A proven interest and basic exposure in Blockchain/Web3.0 technologies;
• Ability to communicate technical ideas effectively, e.g. through discussions, whiteboard sessions, written documentation.

Nice to Have:

• Published papers at some of the leading ML conferences such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, IJCAI etc.
• Deeper exposure to and understanding of DeFi protocols;
• Knowledge of finance and global financials markets;
• Good understanding of software library design.
