What is Polygon?
Polygon is the leading platform for Ethereum scaling and infrastructure development. Polygon Studios is looking for an in-house tokenomics expert who can work with partners to evaluate and high level design tokenomics for web3 games and dApps.
The ideal candidate is an economist with a strong statistical background who understands Web3 business models and has the context and insight into the NFT space.
You'll get to work with a wide range of partners and games, everything from web2 developers getting into the web3 space to web3 natives already building on Polygon. There's huge scope for variety which also comes with having a solid understanding of tokenomics and how different models would best suited to different types and scope of projects.
Responsibilies
- Collaborating with partners to understand their requirements and identifying the best tokenomic solution(s).
- Working with partners through development, launch and post launch for tokenomic support and evaluation, especially as new updates and live service seasonal upgrades are rolled out.
- Work with the Business Development team to assist in partner negotiations and project evaluations providing tokenomics guidance and support.
- Work with the Development and Market Research team to develop tokenomic whitepapers and best practices for different use cases.
- Actively research and watch closely for emergent tokenomic models to keep at the forefront of tokenomics in web3.
Requirements
- Analytical thinker, degree holder in Economics or a related discipline, or experience to offset this.
- Knowledge of macro, microeconomics, pricing theory, and statistics, especially in the free-to-play gaming industry, with the ability to model problems into quantitative systems, formulate ratios and indexes specific to each game.
- Ability to model and simulate planned changes, overall sinks, and sources while anticipating downstream effects with post-launch analysis to ensure expected outcomes are reached.4+ years professional system and economic design experience.
