Head of Engineering

This role offers the opportunity to lead and shape the engineering function of a high-growth, technology-driven platform in the blockchain and decentralized finance space. As Head of Engineering, you will oversee the architecture, development, and delivery of secure, scalable, and high-performance software products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product, operations, and security, while also engaging with external blockchain foundations and protocol communities. The role combines technical leadership, strategic planning, and team building, providing a platform to influence technology direction and company growth. You will mentor and grow a global team of engineers, drive engineering excellence, and ensure systems are robust, reliable, and aligned with business and client needs.

• Accountabilities
• Define and implement the technology strategy to drive scalability, performance, and competitive advantage.
• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of blockchain, staking, yield, and API products.
• Ensure API and service reliability, resilience, and security at scale for complex blockchain workloads.
• Manage, mentor, and grow software teams, fostering innovation, continuous improvement, and a strong engineering culture.
• Oversee engineering processes, tech stack adoption, and operational excellence through monitoring, alerting, and incident management.
• Collaborate with product, security, and operations teams to align on goals, deliverables, and resource planning.
• Engage with blockchain communities and protocol foundations, representing the engineering function externally.

• Requirements
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of technical leadership experience across architecture, full-stack development, and long-term technical strategy.
• 5+ years managing and scaling high-performing engineering teams from scratch.
• 3+ years designing, building, and launching Web3 or crypto-focused products.
• Expertise in scalable, fault-tolerant, highly-available, and secure systems.
• Strong knowledge of API server design, RESTful principles, security, and performance optimization.
• Experience driving engineering best practices, agile planning, and resource allocation.
• Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and cloud infrastructure.
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Preferred: blockchain, staking, yield, and stablecoin platform experience; knowledge of Ethereum, Polkadot, TON, Cosmos; smart contract development; engagement with protocol communities.
