Role Overview

We're seeking a visionary Technical Lead/Senior Platform Engineer background to take ownership of our sophisticated trading platform. This role requires a unique blend of deep technical expertise in event-driven architectures, distributed systems, and modern development practices, combined with strong leadership capabilities. You'll be responsible for maintaining and evolving our platform while building a high-performing technical team.

Primary Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

• Own and maintain our full technical stack, including backend services, frontend application, and infrastructure
• Ensure platform stability, security, and performance in a production environment
• Implement new features and system improvements while maintaining high code quality
• Manage and optimize our cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines

Team & Stakeholder Management

• Drive technical strategy and roadmap planning in collaboration with product owners
• Lead sprint planning and execution, ensuring efficient resource utilization
• Provide clear communication on technical progress, challenges, and solutions to stakeholders
• Build and maintain strong relationships with product owners and business teams
• Mentor and guide development team members, fostering a culture of technical excellence
• Establish and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures
• Drive technical hiring decisions and team growth strategies
• Lead code reviews and maintain high code quality standards across the team

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Expertise

• Deep expertise in event-driven architectures and distributed systems
• Strong proficiency in .NET Core ecosystem and C# development
• Advanced experience with event sourcing patterns and CQRS
• Proven experience with message brokers and event dispatch systems (NATS)
• Strong understanding of database optimization (PostgreSQL, Redis)
• Experience with Angular and TypeScript in large-scale applications
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration
• Proficiency in GitOps practices and CI/CD automation
• Strong background in application security and financial compliance
• Experience with observability tools and distributed tracing (OpenTelemetry)
• Experience integrating and managing multiple third-party services
• Strong understanding of financial technology security requirements
• Working with our team of core trading systems developers to improve and expand the functionality of our matching engine, order entry mechanisms, and market data publication
• Develop scalable architecture for the future state of our exchange and contribute towards improving the trading infrastructure
• Experience in the crypto or fintech industry
• Understanding of blockchain technologies and crypto wallets
• Write robust code and APIs to support the company’s vital business

Leadership & Management Experience

• Minimum 3 years of experience leading development teams
• Proven track record of successful project delivery in a technical lead role
• Experience in recruiting, mentoring, and growing technical teams
• Strong ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Demonstrated experience working with product owners and business stakeholders
• Experience in sprint planning, resource allocation, and team capacity management
• Track record of making strategic technical decisions while balancing business needs

Backend Architecture

• Event-sourced application built with .NET stack
• ASP.NET Core with EventStoreDB as primary data storage
• NATS for event dispatching and message broker
• PostgreSQL for read models and data persistence
• Redis for caching and distributed coordination
• OpenTelemetry for tracing, metrics, and diagnostics

Frontend

• Modular Angular application architecture
• TypeScript as primary frontend language
• Component-based design principles

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with financial or trading systems
• Experience in the crypto or fintech industry
• Understanding of blockchain technologies and crypto wallets
• Experience working in a startup environment
• Previous experience building and leading technical teams
