What the role involves:

As Financial Analyst at IOHK, you will have specialized experience in venture capital environments, particularly in dealing with early-stage startups in Web3 and decentralized systems. This role involves detailed financial analysis to drive decisions in investment and support for small startups. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of venture capital dynamics and the unique challenges faced by emerging companies.

• Financial Analysis for Startups: Perform detailed financial analysis and due diligence for potential investments in early-stage startups.
• Investment Strategy Development: Develop and recommend strategies for investment based on comprehensive risk and return assessments.
• Portfolio Management: Monitor and evaluate financial performance of portfolio companies, providing strategic financial advice to optimize growth and profitability.
• Financial Forecasting and Modeling: Create financial models specific to venture capital investments, projecting long-term growth and profitability of startup ventures.
• Stakeholder Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and presentations for internal stakeholders and external investors, highlighting investment performance and future prospects.
• Market Research: Conduct in-depth market research to identify emerging trends and investment opportunities in the startup ecosystem.
• Collaboration with Entrepreneurs: Work directly with startup management teams to develop financial strategies and improve fiscal management.

The above list of responsibilities is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the organization.

Who you are:

• Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in a financial analysis role within a venture capital firm, with a significant track record of dealing with early-stage startups.
• Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Finance or Entrepreneurship, or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
• Exceptional ability to analyze financial statements, business plans, and cash flow models, particularly within the startup environment.
• Capability to think strategically and provide actionable insights to both startups and venture capital firms.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with entrepreneurs, investors, and other stakeholders.
• Innovative problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues in high-stakes scenarios.
