Overview:
Director of Solutions Engineering will lead, develop, and mentor a regional subset of our Solutions Engineering team focused on the Financial Services and Healthcare Industries. The ideal candidate will be passionate about building and developing GitHub's technical sales process and working with various teams to drive customer opportunities.
Responsibilities:
Customer and Industry Insights

Coaches and leads the team in strategizing across the business to drive customer engagement initiatives.

Brings in business and industry insights to address the broader business challenges for the customer and deliver solutions.
Trusted Advisor

Creates connections and feedback loops with Product and Engineering teams.

Leads analysis of overall customer situation for some of the largest accounts, and advises on gaps that would benefit from GitHub solutions.

Maintains, models to the team, and leverages a broad knowledge of GitHub's product landscape, solutions, and strategy to address customer's needs.
Technology Strategy Formulation

Leads analysis of overall customer situation for some of the largest and most complex accounts, and advises on gaps that would benefit from GitHub solutions, using an understanding of the business strategies and outcomes that technology can support.

Drives efforts to resolve any blockers to solution implementation.

Validates strategy and plan with customer stakeholders.

Plays a critical role in partner sell-with scenarios (if applicable), working collaboratively to scale solutions through partner channels.
Sales Partnership

Coaches team to identify and understand customer issues and propose viable solutions. Leads team-based efforts with technical teams to solve technical challenges and pain points, as necessary. Conducts proofs of concept (pre-sales) or demos products (post-sales).
In addition, this role has people management responsibilities including driving employee growth and development, executing projects, and managing performance.

10+ years experience in technical consulting, technical consultative selling, or related technical/sales/industry experience

OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology Engineering, Business, or related field AND 8+ years experience in technical consulting, technical consultative selling, or related technical/sales/industry experience

OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field AND 6+ years experience in technical consulting, technical consultative selling, or related technical/sales/industry experience

OR Doctorate in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field AND 4+ years experience in technical consulting, technical consultative selling, or related technical/sales/industry experience

OR equivalent experience.

3+ years project/product management or technical lead experience

OR 1+ year(s) formal or informal people management experience.
Preferred Qualifications:

Technology Experience: 5+ years experience in digital transformation using technology to drive customer business outcomes.

Consulting Experience: 5+ years experience in business consulting, consultative selling, or customer-facing experience.

Working knowledge of highly regulated customers and accounts in the Financial Services and Healthcare Industries.

Experience with Devops and the Software Development Lifecycle; understanding of Application Security, AI tools, and CI/CD.
Compensation Range: The base salary range for this job is USD $127,120.00 - USD $337,190.00 /Yr.
In addition, this role also has the opportunity to earn sales incentives. On target earnings (OTE) is based on a 70/30 base salary/sales incentive.
These pay ranges are intended to cover roles based across the United States. An individual's base pay depends on various factors including geographical location and review of experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant. At GitHub certain roles are eligible for benefits and additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These rewards are allocated based on individual impact in role. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee's role.
