At Polygon we are looking seeking for a DevOps Engineer that has blend of development and operational experience that provides good understanding of problems related to large scale Web deployments. The engineer is biased toward action yet able to strike the right balance between appropriate levels of process, automation and security in a fast paced development environment.
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring that our every deployment has more than 99% availability at all times.
- Actively troubleshoot any issues that arise during testing and production, catching and solving issues before launch.
- Automate our operational processes as needed, with accuracy and in compliance with our security requirements.
- Establish DevOps Engineer team best practices.
- Manage code deployments, fixes, updates and related processes; Work with CI and CD tools, and source control such as GIT and SVN.
- Offer good technical support where needed, developing software for our back-end systems.
- Stay current with industry trends and source new ways for our business to improve.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, Software Engineering or a relevant field.
- Strong experience with Linux-based infrastructures, Linux/Unix administration.
- Experience with managing databases such as MySQL, NoSQL, Elasticsearch, Redis and/or MongoDB, RDS.
- Knowledge of languages such as Javascript/Python, Bash is a must.
- Experience of configuration management tools like Terraform and Ansible is a must.
- Experience in working with different Linux distributions: Ubuntu, Centos is a Must. Knowledge of other Linux fundamentals is also required.
- Experience in working with containers - Docker preferably and container orchestration tools like Swarm, Kubernetes.
- Experience with monitoring tools like Grafana, Prometheus etc.
- Continuous Integration and continuous delivery tools, Jenkins for automation and configuration.
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain protocol and processes with team and management.
- More than five years of experience in a DevOps Engineer role (or similar role); experience in software development and infrastructure development is a plus.
- Knowledge of AWS cloud and its services like EC2, VPC, S3, SNS, Load balancers, Auto scaling, Route53, Code Pipeline, Code deploy, Cloud front, IAM role etc is a Must.
