Informal is a core contributor to Cosmos, where we develop interoperable blockchain systems by heavily relying on formal verification tools and techniques (formal specification in TLA+, symbolic model checker Apalache, Model Based Testing Framework, etc). The Cosmos technology stack, including Tendermint Core, the Cosmos-SDK, IBC, and the Cosmos Proof of Stake modules, is an industry-leading Go toolkit for building, deploying, and running blockchains. This technology is used today to secure many billions of dollars in cryptocurrency market capitalization. As a Tendermint Developer Relations Engineer, you will have the opportunity to play the crucial role of representing the voice of external users internally and bringing their feedback into our offerings. This role will help bridge gaps between users and our internal teams, to ensure a strong communication channel, resolution of developer issues and an opportunity to engage developers with Tendermint.

What your primary responsibilities will be:

  • Learn and integrate into the Cosmos blockchain ecosystem
  • Develop learning resources for users
  • Be the primary point of contact for users - address troubleshooting and escalate issues correctly to our internal teams
  • Translate user issues into actionable problems for our internal teams
  • Improve the user experience, correctness, code quality, and performance of the software.
  • Develop a deep level of understanding of how to use our software

What we look for in a successful Tendermint Developer Relations Engineer:

  • Significant experience in software engineering or developer advocacy
  • A desire to advocate for a remarkable user experience
  • Delivered high-quality code samples that engage developers in multiple languages and frameworks
  • Engagement and communication with developer platforms or open source communities
  • Pursued side projects, research, or open source projects
  • Great communication and technical writing skills
