Design System Designer/Engineer at Element Finance

As a part of the Design team at Element, you will be involved in creating the design system that all Product Design teams, Engineers, and Product Managers use to design & develop at Element. Using your full range of interaction, visual, and prototyping skills, you will own creating a consistent and predictable look & feel for all of our mobile products. You will be part of a team that ensures design quality across all facets of UI, illustration, motion, etc. As a qualified candidate, you have a record of leading projects to successful outcomes for users and the business. You are a strong cross-functional partner having worked closely with engineers, a great communicator, and above all, you approach problems holistically as a unified system. You are able to precisely articulate design rationale and present to diverse stakeholders from all across the company.

Responsibilities:

1. Create a unified, cohesive set of UX and visual guidelines for all of Element’s mobile & web products Plan strategically as a partner with engineering, product and brand to define the future of design systems at Element across Governance, Core products
2. Think (really) big, and explore divergent concepts while understanding how to converge and build iteratively towards your vision
3. Create high-quality mocks and interactive prototypes to communicate your work. Use user research and data to inform your reasonings
4. Advocate for design by sharing your work and presenting cross-functionally. Be able to precisely articulate design rationale and goals
5. Inspire the entire team and our internal partners by bringing new ideas to the table and defining next-generation interfaces

Experience Looking For:

• 2+ years of experience working in UX / Design field
• 1+ years of experience working with design systems
• Experience designing on multiple platforms (Web, iOS, Android, etc)
• Highly proficient with current design tools (Figma, etc)
• Excellent presentation and documentation skills
• Excellence in visual design / brand craft
• Ability to work with a low-ego, highly collaborative, cross-functional team
• Excited about working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Demonstrated experience leading projects with minimal direction and handling a large degree of ambiguity.
• A passion for web3, Defi and making finance fun
• An interest to make finance more accessible to community members that aren’t native to Defi or traditional finance

Nice to Have:

• Proven systems thinking, with aptitude for learning our technical systems.
• Experience working with CSS, Javascript, Typescript and framework libraries (i.e. Tailwind CSS).
• Experience creating components in CSS.
