A quick snapshot…

The Database Architect will work to revamp our database design and create the architecture of our new databases. They will diagnose malfunctions and come up with a clear plan to improve performance and reliability at the database tier. They will oversee storage-related actions of the development team while also mentoring developers and performance tuning.

Why it’s a big deal…

You will be working on our newest product offering Aptos ONE; a cloud-native, mobile-first, and unified commerce services platform. This will enable retailers to respond to changing market demands across all customer touchpoints. 

Are you the person we’re looking for?

Must have…
  • Proven success with relational databases. You have experience tuning and writing SQL code so that performance and reliability are up to par with company standards. You also have experience scripting database conversions -- so, you can turn today’s changes and improvements into tomorrow’s improved design.
  • 5+ years of experience data architecture in a microservices environment
  • MySQL
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • NoSQL

Nice to have…

  • CrateDB
  • Couchbase

Something about NoSQL…

Expert in using key technologies and tools. This one’s also important. You don’t just know the technologies and tools listed below -- you’ve challenged the processes and demonstrated excellent judgment in selecting the best methods to design, code, and test. Repeatedly. Be prepared to share your experiences -- we’re looking forward to hearing them! Specifically, we are looking for experience in the following areas:
  • Database schema management tools
  • Transactional OLTP systems
  • Exposure to AWS
  • Background integrating ORM tools
