About the role

The Compliance Team has a very special role in our mission: support the company's growth by identifying the Compliance risks that Nu faces; designing and implementing controls to protect Nu from such risks; and by providing advisory to the Business on regulations and internal policies to create the best product or service that follows with these external and internal standards.

We are searching for a Compliance Senior Specialist with strong regulatory knowledge to support the definition of action plans to comply with regulatory requirements and deadlines, and the prevention and detection of anomalies that may result in gaps. This position will focus on themes related to Crypto and Blockchain, AML, fraud, and FX regulatory requirements, with flexibility to rotate across topics based on the team's evolving priorities.

Beyond regulatory expertise, we're looking for someone who can bring structure and efficiency to how the Compliance team operates — someone comfortable leading projects end-to-end and exploring how AI and process redesign can make regulatory compliance work faster, clearer, and more scalable.

The position requires working and interfacing with multiple partners and teams, evaluating new regulations and supporting business areas, giving regulatory advisories about product and procedures.

You'll be responsible for

  • Day to day monitoring of new regulation published and market best practices;

  • Monitor and answer inquiries from the regulators;

  • Support the Compliance team with the regulatory tests;

  • Support to business areas, giving regulatory advisories about products and procedures;

  • Prevention and detection of anomalies that may result in regulatory gaps;

  • Registration of action plans to comply with regulatory requirements and deadlines;

  • Lead and manage compliance-related projects end-to-end, including planning, prioritization, and stakeholder alignment;

  • Identify opportunities to improve Compliance processes through automation, AI tools, and process redesign;

  • To evaluate possible conflict of interests, when applicable.

We are looking for a person who has

  • Strong regulatory knowledge, ideally with experience in Crypto and/or Blockchain, financial regulation, or adjacent regulated industries;

  • Capacity to deeply analyze new rules and understand its impacts, being hungry to go after information and seeking knowledge;

  • Project management skills, with experience leading initiatives from planning through execution;

  • Interest and hands-on experience in applying AI tools and automation to improve efficiency and redesign processes;

  • Clear and objective communication skills;

  • Negotiation and organizational skills;

  • Writing skills and objectiveness;

  • Hands-on approach and ownership mentality;

  • Advanced English;

  • Other skills: the candidate needs to be open and flexible with possible rotation of topics inside the Team; Help with the team's cross demands may be needed; Performing operational activities that are part of the team's routines may be needed.
