Role Overview

As Chief Technology Officer, you will be responsible for shaping and executing Blockpact Capital's technology strategy, providing technical due diligence for investment opportunities, and serving as a strategic technical advisor to our portfolio companies. You will lead technical evaluations of blockchain protocols, smart contract architectures, and decentralized applications while building and maintaining relationships with top technical talent in the Web3 ecosystem. This is a unique opportunity to combine deep technical expertise with strategic investment acumen at a leading blockchain-focused venture capital firm.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Due Diligence & Investment Strategy

• Lead technical due diligence for potential investments across blockchain and Web3 projects

• Evaluate smart contract code, blockchain architecture, and protocol security

• Develop technical investment frameworks and evaluation criteria for blockchain projects

• Coordinate security audits and technical reviews with external partners

• Contribute to fund strategy on technology trends and investment opportunities

Portfolio Company Support

• Provide strategic technical guidance to portfolio companies on architecture and scaling

• Support portfolio companies in technical hiring and team building

• Build internal technical tools and platforms to support investment operations

Ecosystem Engagement

• Build and maintain relationships with leading blockchain developers and technical communities

• Represent Blockpact Capital at technical conferences and developer events

• Stay ahead of emerging blockchain technologies, protocols, and development frameworks

Team Leadership

• Mentor and develop technical capabilities within the investment team

Requirements

Technical Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, with 5+ years in leadership roles

• Deep expertise in blockchain technology, smart contracts, and decentralized systems

• Hands-on experience with Solidity, Rust, or other blockchain programming languages

• Strong understanding of DeFi protocols, NFT infrastructure, and Web3 architecture

• Experience conducting technical due diligence or security audits

• Experience with system architecture, distributed systems, and cryptography

• Proven track record of building and scaling technical teams

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (Master's preferred)

Professional Skills

• Excellent communication skills with ability to explain complex technical concepts

• Strategic thinking with ability to balance technical and business considerations

• Strong network within the blockchain and Web3 developer community

• Willingness to travel globally for conferences and portfolio company support

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in venture capital, startup advisory, or technical consulting

• Open-source contributions to major blockchain projects or protocols

• Experience founding or leading a successful blockchain/Web3 startup

• Published research or thought leadership in blockchain technology

• Active participation in blockchain governance or protocol development
