Business Development LATAM

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Business Development Representative with a background in technology, ideally from a Web 2.0 growth start-up. This is a unique role for someone to come in and play an essential role in developing the MakerDAO ecosystem. We need someone who:

• Understand the Maker Protocol market fit.
• Give support and education to drive DAI and Maker Vaults adoption and integrations.
• Generate expansion and adoption of DAI and Maker Vaults.
• Develop an integration strategy and give continuous advice to the newest distribution channels.
• Create a success plan to track integration outcomes.
• Review the oldest integrations' status to help them grow in the usage of DAI and Maker Vaults.

With the vision “to create a decentralized, transparent and accessible platform to level the economic playing field for everybody around the world,” MakerDAO was created on the belief that DAOs, blockchains, and digital currency will rewire the global economic system, creating a fundamentally more open, transparent, inclusive, efficient, and integrated world economy.   The MakerDAO Growth Core Unit aims to grow the available distribution channels for the Maker protocol by intelligently deploying the human and financial capital given by the DAO, increasing the supply and demand of DAI in the global markets. The key channels we wish to expand are the (1) ability of borrowers to generate DAI, (2) the ability of users to buy and sell DAI, and (3) the ability of users to perform a helpful activity with DAI.

About you

• 3+ years working in the crypto or tech industry.
• You are based in the LatAm region, and you don’t mind traveling to relevant and exciting Blockchain events (once per month, 2-3 days).
• You have excellent research skills, and you are passionate about crypto.
• You are an open person, and you enjoy talking to people, evangelizing, going to meet-ups, and sharing knowledge on everything connected to Blockchain.
• Comfort in working with a small team in a very fast-paced environment
• Motivated, self-starter attitude that can adapt and thrive in ambiguity
• Relentlessly curious about the emerging technology of the web3 ecosystem
• Thrives in a distributed environment, with the ability to strengthen and build relationships across the DAO
• Understanding how DAOs work (it is not your typical organization), i.e., you manage your health insurance and work pass.
• Grit and determination to learn. Also, you are self-motivated, and you like working independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Source for new projects around the TradFi and DeFi ecosystem on other fast-growing networks. 
• Do research and development in potential multi-chain and cross-chain collaboration in the LatAm’s ecosystem. 
• Engage and educate traditional finance companies about DeFi, the MakerDAO protocol, and the importance of building trust through transparency.
• Coordinate speaking opportunities at high profile conferences in LatAm and attend/organize crypto events and conferences. 
• Be responsible for providing updated regulatory updates, especially for Brazil and Argentina, and keeping abreast of emerging trends in each country in the region. 
• Maintain relationships with existing partners integrated with MakerDAO and talk to the projects to see the new opportunities. 
• Work closely with the DAO.
