Position: Senior Product & Technology Counsel
Job Brief
As a Senior Products & Technology Counsel, you’ll provide legal advice and strategies with a focus on product and technology and commercial agreements, largely. You’ll have a broad range of responsibilities providing legal guidance on product development initiatives. You’ll partner with our internal team and external partners and clients to develop new technologies while managing legal risk and ensuring regulatory compliance. You should have deep experience in negotiating complex technology and commercial agreements, be well-organized, have high attention to detail, have a proven ability to draft agreements from scratch and to handle multiple, complex matters simultaneously and independently without supervision. You are a problem solver who is comfortable working in nascent industries where even the regulators are unsure of policy. You have a strong moral compass and respect for law and regulations, yet you seek to find innovative ways to get to yes. You are able to work in a fast-paced environment with demanding deadlines.
Principal Responsibilities

Partner with our Product, Engineering, Risk, Compliance, and other teams to provide practical and actionable advice as we launch new and exciting products. You will be the lead legal advisor to executives, product managers, engineers, and compliance professionals on product compliance and data privacy issues globally.

Draft and negotiate a variety of agreements, including but not limited to inbound product agreements (OEM, cloud based API usage, etc.), patent and technology license agreements, development and collaboration agreements, master service agreements, consulting services agreements, and logistics and supply agreements.

Support continuous improvement of forms, policies, and processes to help streamline, simplify, and automate relevant contracting processes.
Experience and Skills

You have at least 7 years of transactional legal experience at both a top-ranked law firm and in a corporate legal department with an emphasis on drafting and negotiating technology and commercial contracts and advising product and engineering teams with expertise in one or more of the following areas: payments, capital markets, finance, fintech, wealth management, or regulated financial institutions.

You’re organized and can juggle multiple simultaneous projects at once, and have the ability to pivot on the fly to adapt to sudden changes in regulation, industry opportunities, or business priorities.

You possess expert communication skills with the ability to collaborate with internal teammates and clients to achieve streamlined and efficient results while maintaining a professional and cordial relationship. You are direct, open, and both a strong communicator and a great listener. You are responsive and responsible, with a sense of urgency to accomplish tasks and eagerness to take on additional responsibilities.You have a thirst for learning and the intellectual creativity and ambition to innovate and find ways to do things that others might think are impossible. Challenges are nothing more than a problem that you “can” solve.
