Head of Community

Our community is exploding ad we have over 36,000 devs in our Discord today. We’re looking for someone that can stay on-top of our community and create value for them. When people think “community” they usually think it’s someone that sits in Discord replying to users or keeping them active by constantly trying to start convos — we don’t give a shit how active you are in Discord. What we do care about are the creative new initiatives you create that empower our community of web3 devs. For example, some stuff you might work on:

• Work w/ various web3 cos to build out our “perks” page where we offer members of buildspace’s community access to special deals (ex. free access to Alchemy, AWS credits, etc). Bonus if you can build it yourself using no-code tools.
• Find our community’s most active members and promote them. For example, maybe we have a really active user in Mumbai — could you have them run an irl event called “buildspace mumbai” and help them organize it?
• Running a bi-weekly “demo day” type event where users can FALSE off projects their working on to hundreds of users live in Discord. Users can vote on who had the best project and the winner gets a grant of $5,000 from buildspace to continue working on it.

🛠 What we’re building.

Hey! We’re buildspace — we’re building the world’s largest network of web3 builders. Today, devs can join our network, build their own web3 projects, earn NFTs, and get access to work opportunities in crypto. As users build more, our treasury grows in value since protocols pay us directly for spreading the word about their chain. As users are hired, our treasury also grows in value since companies pay a recruitment fee when they hire from buildspace. Users are able to govern this treasury and deploy the capital to do things like: invest in projects/companies users are creating, fund irl events, pay others to continue creating more educational web3 content, and anything else proposed and voted on.

🚜 Traction

We started working on buildspace 5-months ago and have grown to over 35,000 devs. We’re partnered with the world’s top protocols like the Ethereum Foundation, Solana, Avalanche, and Polygon. We’ve also partnered w/ the world’s top web3 companies who hire from within buildspace like Alchemy, Uniswap, ThirdWeb, OpenSea, and 40 others.

🌎 Location

We’re a remote company that meets up irl multiple times a year to hack/work together. If you’re good at what you do and want to join us, then we don’t really care where you’re based. We’ll make it work. We do have a preference for people in the US since we usually meet up within the US, so traveling is easier. But, not required.

😈 The type of people we’re looking for

We want builders. Ex-founders, people who have worked at startups in the past, people who have built + shipped their own personal projects/products to real users, and really anyone that’s made an honest effort to do cool shit in the real world. We don’t care about FANNG experience, degrees, your age, or what college you attended. But, we do care deeply about your history building products that shipped to actual users.
