Job Title: Associate/Assistant Professor of Emerging Technology and Innovation

Reporting Relationship: Chair of Technology Division

Unit: National & Global

Department: Computer Technology

Campus Location: Online/Remote

Summary of Position: An assistant or associate professor specializing in emerging technologies would focus on the latest advancements in AI, blockchain, quantum computing, Internet of Things (IoT), and other disruptive technologies. Additionally, this position should exhibit a high level of understanding regarding innovation management that would instruct students in understanding how to not only adopt these technologies but also drive innovation within organizations. This area covers the processes, strategies, and leadership skills necessary to foster a culture of innovation and implement cutting-edge technologies effectively.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • 50% - Graduate and Doctoral teaching responsibilities in courses that align with expertise
  • 20% - Curriculum development regarding new programs in emerging technologies and continual evaluation of existing courses around technology
  • 20% - Program administration around AI programs and faculty/adjunct support primarily around quality control
  • 5% - External Engagement and Corporate partnership development
  • 5% - Continued scholarship and research

Qualifications: According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.


Education

  • Terminal degree in computer science, technology management, engineering or similar technology discipline
  • Alternatively, a terminal degree with an MBA, MS in Information technology or MS in engineering with a minimal of seven years with a technology leadership background

Experience

  • Extensive background in technology management with a deep understanding of emerging tech such as AI, blockchain, quantum computing, Internet of Things (IoT), and other disruptive technologies
  • Preferred experience with leading innovation within the organization specifically in regard to technology innovation

Required Skills

  • Change management specialist especially within the technology vertical
  • Lifelong learner who continually adapts organizations to technical solutions specifically around AI, Cloud, SaaS and PaaS providers
